Dr. John Beck, DVM
Dr. Beck was born and raised in Victoria. He grew up on his family farm on Salem Road where he and his family raised sheep, chickens, cattle, horses, etc. After high school, Dr. Beck went to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate work and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Education.
Upon graduation, Dr. Beck began working for the Extension Service of Liberty County where he was very involved in the local 4-H clubs. Two years later, Dr. Beck made the decision to apply for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He was accepted into the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 1979 and graduated in August of 1982.
He returned to Victoria and purchased Hillcrest Animal Hospital from Dr. Phillips. After two years of practicing at the location on Main Street, Dr. Beck moved the practice to its current location on John Stockbauer Drive. He has been successfully growing his practice in this location since 1985. His favorite areas of study are orthopedic surgery, dermatological cases, and exotic animals.
Dr. Beck loves all animals, including wildlife. In his spare time, he likes working on his ranch, where he raises horses and cattle. He has two wonderful children, Laurie and John, and three grandchildren, Jack, Molly, and John W. Beck IV (Liam). He is a board member for the local Rotary Club, a board member for the Victoria Electric Co-Op Board of Directors, and a board member of the South Texas Farm and Ranch Show. He is also a longtime member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Golden Crescent Veterinary Medical Association (GCVMA), Texas Cattleman’s Association, and the Texas Wildlife Management Association.
Dr. Beck is also a member of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, C of C Ambassadors, and Hope of South Texas.
Dr. Beck is a very respected member of the community and strives for excellence in every aspect of his professional and personal life.
Dr. Tyler Oxley, DVM
Large and Small Animal Doctor
Dr. Oxley spent most of his childhood in Abilene, Texas before he went off to college in Virginia. In Virginia, he played collegiate football and received his bachelor’s degree in cellular, molecular, and physiological biology at Christopher Newport University. He then moved to the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean to join Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine class of 2023. Dr. Oxley spent his clinical years in the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Dr. Oxley practiced mixed animal medicine in North Texas for 2 years before moving to Victoria, Texas with his wife, Dr. Oxley, and their two dogs, Remington and Archer. Dr. Oxley has a passion for surgery and large animal medicine, especially cattle. He looks forward to promoting herd health protocols that maximize production in your herds. In his free time, he enjoys duck hunting and spending time with his wife and their dogs. Dr. Oxley is eager to become part of the community and contribute his skills and knowledge to make a positive impact.
Dr. Melanie Oxley, DVM
Small Animal Doctor
Dr. Oxley grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania before she moved to Texas in 2017. She moved to Laredo, Texas to play softball for Texas A&M International University and receive her bachelor’s degree in biology. She then moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University and join the College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2025.
After graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, she moved to Victoria, Texas with her husband, Tyler (Dr. Ox), and their 2 dogs, Archer and Remington. As a veterinarian, Dr. Oxley strives to optimize preventative medicine so your pets can live a long and healthy life at home with you, but is honored to provide care when health concerns arise. She is Fear Free and AVMA Veterinary First Responder certified. Dr. Oxley has a passion for diagnostic imaging and internal medicine and is eager to provide the quality care that your pet deserves.
Deanna Hencerling, LVT
Practice Manager
Deanna is a native Victorian, graduating from Industrial High School in 2004 and then went on to attend the Vet Tech Institute of Houston where she received an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. Deanna began her veterinary career at Hillcrest in July of 2012
Madison Wallace, BS
Lead Technician
Just down the road in Hallettsville Madison grew up on a farm with a vast variety of animals and livestock. After graduating highschool she attended Texas A&M University Kingsville. After being accepted into the veterinary technology program she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences- Veterinary Technology and a minor in Animal Science. Soon after she joined the Hillcrest family; Madison married Jake Wallace in 2021 and they are proud owners of multiple dogs, cats, livestock and poultry.
Devin Norman, LVT
Technician
Devin is a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute of Houston, with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She married her husband in 2017, and they welcomed their first-born child, a son in 2019. Two years later they welcomed a little girl. Devin is not only passionate about caring for animals, she also has two cats and four dogs, and has helped rescue and foster countless others for 10 years now. She loves her family, loves outside time with the kids, enjoys yoga, and playing golf with her husband.
Kimberly Boudreau, CVA II
Technician
Kim was born in Kansas and moved to Victoria in 2004. She married her husband Brad and has two daughters. They have a GSD named Xena-Wena and two rescue pups named Auri and Demi. She enjoys spending her free time reading and playing outside with the kids and dogs. Her passion for all animals makes her an awesome fit for our Hillcrest Team
Breana Hobbs, CVA II
Technician
Breana was raised in League City, Texas, graduated high school in 2017 then moved to College Station and began school at Texas A&M University. She studied Biomedical Science and Animal Science while working at the TAMU Large Animal Teaching Hospital. Currently, she is enrolled in an online program to receive her LVT and plans on finishing her Bachelors degree online. Breana moved to Victoria in August of 2022 with her fiance, and they got married in September 2022. Breana and her husband are proud owners of two dogs.
Cassie Beeler, BS
Technician
Cassie is a 2024 Tarleton State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She is currently studying to receive her licence to become an LVT. She enjoyed barrel racing on the Rodeo team while in college. Cassie loves Hunting, fishing, cooking and perfecting sourdough recipes on her time off. She has 5 horses, 4 dogs, and a flock of chickens.
Julianna Torres, CVA
Lead Kennel Technician
Julianna started her career at Hillcrest in 2022. She has three children and dogs Chloe, Clifford and others. She has had a love for animals since she was a young child. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys fostering pets when she can. Denali Stovall
Kennel Technician
Denali was born in Alaska and has moved around the states. She has owned and loved many different types of pets from cats and dogs to bearded dragons and guinea pigs. She spent 6 years in nursing before she landed at Hillcrest. Denali enjoys traveling and spending time with her animals.
Marcy Afflerbach
Financial Administrator
Marcy has lived in Victoria all of her life. She came to Hillcrest Animal Hospital in early 2018. Her love of working with numbers AND animals is the perfect fit for her! She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and decorating & has a passion for animal rescue. Marcy shares her home with her three rescue dogs – Winnie, Bessie & Winston. She leads a simple and serene life with her fur babies…just the way she likes it!

Desiree was born and raised in Victoria where she graduated from Memorial High in 2005. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. Desiree spent years in the world of Cosmetology making others beautiful, now she makes Hillcrest beautiful. She has multiple dogs and cats that she loves to spend her down time with.
Gencie McGarry

Gencie was born and raised right here in Victoria Texas. She married her husband in 2017 and has 4 beautiful children.They have a rambunctious golden retriever named meatball and a three legged cat named monroe. Gencie loves spending time with her family and helping animals in need.
